Connecting Jira, Notion, and Slack to Sofos
App connections let Claude create tickets, update pages, and post messages from inside your document workspace. What connects, how, and what to watch.
Out of the box, Claude in Sofos works with what's in your workspace folder. Connect your apps and it can also act where your team actually works: file the Jira tickets it just planned with you, publish a doc to Notion, pull the Slack thread you're supposed to summarize. The plan-then-file gap — where a document says one thing and the tracker says another — is exactly what this closes.
How to connect an app
- Open the Apps section in Sofos and pick the tool — Jira, Notion, Slack, and others are available.
- Sign in through the tool's own login page. Sofos never sees your password; the connection uses the same authorization flow other integrations use.
- That's it. Claude can now use the connection when a task calls for it.
What it looks like in practice
You finish a planning doc and say "create these as Jira tickets in the MOBILE project." Claude lists exactly what it's about to create — titles, descriptions, the works — and files them after you confirm. Or: "find last week's decisions in #product-leads and add them to decisions.md." The document workspace stays your home base; the connections are how work leaves it and context enters it.
Several skills in the library lean on connections — the PRD-to-Jira skill is the obvious one. Each skill card lists what it needs before you download, so there are no surprises mid-task.
Two things worth knowing
- Claude confirms before it writes. Creating tickets, editing pages, posting messages — you see the plan and approve it. Reading is quieter, which is what you want.
- Connections use your account and your permissions. Claude can't touch a project you can't touch, and everything it creates is attributed to you — worth remembering before you let it loose on the team board.
